Located along the shores of Lake Tanganyika in western Tanzania, Gombe National Park is one of the smallest yet most famous parks in Africa. It is best known as the place where Jane Goodall conducted her groundbreaking research on wild chimpanzees.
Despite its small size, Gombe offers an incredible and intimate wildlife experience, focused primarily on chimpanzee trekking. Visitors hike through lush forested hills to track habituated chimpanzee groups and observe their behavior up close in their natural habitat.
The park’s landscape is unique, featuring steep valleys, dense tropical forest, and beautiful beaches along Lake Tanganyika, creating a peaceful and scenic environment.
In addition to chimpanzees, Gombe is home to other primates such as red colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and baboons, as well as a variety of bird species.
Activities in Gombe include:
🐒 Chimpanzee trekking
🚶 Forest walks
🏝️ Beach relaxation

With no roads inside the park, Gombe offers a pure and immersive nature experience, perfect for travelers seeking a quiet, meaningful, and unique safari.
