7 Days Safari Kenya to Tanzania | Kilimanjaro Views, Flamingos & Wildlife

Your safari begins with a drive to Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most famous parks. After breakfast, you leave Arusha and head toward Tarangire National Park, a drive that takes you through local villages and open countryside, slowly transitioning into the safari environment. As you arrive at the park, the landscape opens up into wide savannah dotted with large baobab trees, giving you a true sense of being in the wild.

Tarangire is well known for its large elephant population, and it is common to see herds moving together, sometimes very close to the vehicle. The Tarangire River plays an important role in the park, attracting wildlife throughout the year, especially during the dry season when animals gather around it for water. As you explore, you may encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and various antelope species, along with a rich variety of birdlife.

The full day allows you to move through different areas of the park without rushing, giving you time to enjoy each sighting and the surrounding scenery. Your guide will adjust the route based on animal movement, making the experience more natural and rewarding. Around midday, you stop for a picnic lunch inside the park, where you can relax and take in the atmosphere before continuing the game drive.

Throughout the day, Tarangire offers a balance of wildlife and peaceful surroundings. Compared to some of the more visited parks, it feels less crowded, allowing you to enjoy the safari in a more relaxed way. As the day comes to an end, you head to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight, carrying with you a full and memorable safari experience.

The journey itself is part of the experience, passing through dramatic landscapes and Maasai villages. Upon arrival, you explore the area known for its flamingos and striking scenery, with the active Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano in the background. The environment feels untouched and different from traditional safari parks, offering a raw and authentic experience.

In the morning, you may enjoy a short walk or exploration around Lake Natron before beginning your journey to Mto wa Mbu. This vibrant village is known for its cultural diversity, where different tribes live together. Upon arrival, you experience local life through activities such as walking tours or visiting farms and markets. This day adds a cultural connection to your safari, giving you insight into everyday life in Tanzania.

Today you head to Lake Manyara National Park, a smaller park known for its diversity. As you enter, you pass through a lush forest where large trees create a cool and shaded environment. This park offers a different safari experience compared to Tarangire, with a mix of forest, open areas, and the lake itself. During your game drive, you may see elephants moving quietly through the forest, large groups of baboons, and flamingos near the lake depending on the season. Lake Manyara is also known for its tree-climbing lions, although sightings are not always guaranteed. The scenery and variety make this day unique and refreshing.

After breakfast, you drive to Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most remarkable wildlife areas in Africa. From the crater rim, you get a wide view of the landscape below before descending into the crater for your game drive. Wildlife is concentrated here, making it one of the best places to see the Big Five. You may encounter lions, buffalo, elephants, hyenas, and possibly the rare black rhino.
