After lunch and check-in, head out for your first photography-focused game drive. Explore Amboseli’s open plains and wetlands while searching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and lions.

After breakfast, leave Amboseli and travel back toward Nairobi. Continue west toward the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations.

Arrive in the afternoon and settle into your accommodation. Later, head out for your first game drive in the Mara. The afternoon light offers excellent opportunities for wildlife portraits and landscape compositions.

Big Cats and Great Migration Photography

Spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve. Begin early because the morning light creates beautiful conditions for wildlife photography. At the same time, predators often remain active during the cooler hours.

Explore the open plains, river areas and wildlife-rich sections of the reserve. With a private vehicle, your guide can spend more time at promising sightings and help you find the best photographic angles.

During the Great Migration season, large herds of wildebeest and zebra may move through the Mara. However, wildlife movements vary throughout the year.

Crossing into Tanzania

After breakfast, leave the Masai Mara and travel toward the Tanzania border. Continue into Northern Serengeti, one of the key areas of the Great Migration ecosystem.

The scenery changes as you move from Kenya into Tanzania. Along the way, you can enjoy views of rolling hills, open grasslands and wildlife habitats.

Today focuses entirely on Great Migration photography in Northern Serengeti.

Set out early and spend the day exploring areas where wildebeest and zebra may gather. During the migration season, the herds can move toward the Mara River. Their exact location changes constantly, so patience and flexibility remain important.

If conditions align, you may have the opportunity to witness a dramatic Mara River crossing. However, river crossings are natural events and cannot be guaranteed.

A full day in the region gives you more time to follow wildlife activity. It also allows your guide to work around changing light and animal behaviour.

Capture the wildebeest migration and large zebra herds moving across the Northern Serengeti. If conditions are right, you may witness dramatic Mara River crossings, with crocodiles and predators adding to the action. From Migration Country to Predator Country

Start with an early morning game drive in Northern Serengeti, enjoying the cool temperatures and soft morning light. Afterwards, travel south toward Central Serengeti, keeping your camera ready for wildlife along the way.

Central Serengeti Predator Country

Arrive in the Seronera area for an afternoon game drive. Central Serengeti is known for its year-round wildlife and excellent predator sightings. Your guide will adjust the route according to wildlife activity and photography opportunities.

Look out for lions, leopards and cheetahs, as well as elephants and giraffes across the Serengeti plains and rocky kopjes. The golden afternoon light also provides excellent conditions for capturing predators, wildlife behaviour and the dramatic landscapes of Central Serengeti.

Morning – Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Central Serengeti before departing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, capture the changing landscapes and wildlife of northern Tanzania.

Olduvai Gorge & Ngorongoro Highlands

Depending on your schedule, stop at Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site, before continuing to your lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim.

Later, relax at the lodge or enjoy landscape photography from the crater rim, with spectacular views across the highlands and crater.

Afternoon – Tarangire National Park

After exploring the crater, continue to Tarangire National Park. If time allows, enjoy an afternoon game drive while looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife among the iconic baobab trees.
