4 Days Tanzania Fly-in Safari | Ndutu Calving Season & Ngorongoro

Today is spent exploring the Ndutu area, following the movement of the herds.

Early in the morning, the plains are active with wildlife. Thousands of wildebeest gather in open areas, and during calving season, newborns can be seen throughout the day. This attracts predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, making the experience more dynamic.

Your guide adjusts the game drive based on what is happening, allowing you to spend time where activity is highest. The open landscape makes it easier to see and follow animals, giving you a closer and more natural experience.

You start the day with a morning game drive in Ndutu, following the migration and enjoying more wildlife activity. Early hours are often the best, with chances to see predators and herds in action across the open plains.

Later, you begin your drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with wildlife sightings still possible along the way. As you move into the highlands, the landscape changes to cooler and greener surroundings. You arrive at your lodge near the crater rim in the afternoon, giving you time to relax and prepare for the Ngorongoro experience the next day.

You wake up early at your lodge in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and head straight toward the crater for your morning game drive. Descending into the crater, you enter one of the most concentrated wildlife areas in Africa, where animals are active early in the day.

As you explore the crater floor, you have a strong chance to see lions, elephants, buffalo, and, if lucky, rhinos, all within a relatively short time. The mix of open grasslands, water sources, and forest areas creates a rich and active environment for wildlife viewing.
