Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge is a large, scenic safari lodge located on the southern shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, surrounded by acacia trees, grasslands and abundant wildlife right on the lodge grounds. The property was developed with respect for the environment — not a single tree was removed during construction — so buildings wind among the natural landscape and gardens, creating a peaceful safari setting. Hippos often leave the lake at night to graze across the lawns, and giraffes, waterbuck, colobus monkeys, and other wildlife can be seen wandering the grounds by day.
The main lodge features spacious communal areas including a large reception lounge with fireplace, elegant bar, and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Meals blend Swahili, Mediterranean and continental cuisine made with fresh ingredients, and the outdoor terraces offer lovely lake views during dining or sundowners. Facilities like a swimming pool, gym, sauna, children’s pool, and conference halls give the lodge a full set of amenities suitable for families, conferences, weddings or safari rest stops.
Accommodation is set in crescent‑shaped cottages spread along lush gardens, each offering scenes of the lake and savannah beyond. Rooms are generous in size with wide windows and verandas/ balconies so guests can take in the beauty of Naivasha’s nature. The lodge’s location also makes it a great base for exploring nearby natural attractions — from boat rides on the freshwater lake to walking safaris, birdwatching and day trips to nearby parks and islands.
