Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Fly to Maasai Mara

Your safari begins with your arrival in Nairobi, where you are welcomed and transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara. The flight itself is a highlight, offering beautiful aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and the vast landscapes below. Upon arrival at the Mara airstrip, your guide will meet you, and your safari begins immediately with a game drive on the way to your camp or lodge. The Maasai Mara is known for its rich wildlife and open plains, and it doesn’t take long before you begin to see animals such as zebras, giraffes, and antelopes. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an afternoon game drive where you start exploring this iconic reserve. The day ends at your camp, where you relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Day 2: Maasai Mara – Full Day Game Drive

Today is dedicated to exploring the Maasai Mara in depth. After an early breakfast, you head out for a full day game drive across the vast plains. The Mara is one of the best places in Africa to see predators, and you have a strong chance of spotting lions, cheetahs, and possibly leopards. Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and other herbivores are commonly seen, creating a dynamic wildlife environment. If traveling during the migration season, you may witness dramatic river crossings, although these are not guaranteed as they depend on natural movement. The open landscape allows for easy wildlife viewing and photography. You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the reserve, allowing you to spend more time in the wild without returning to the lodge. The day is flexible, and your guide adjusts the route based on animal movements to give you the best experience.

Lake Nakuru is famous for its birdlife, including flamingos that gather along the shores depending on the season. It is also one of the best places in Kenya to see rhinos, both black and white, as they are well protected here. During your game drive, you may also see lions, buffalo, giraffes, and various antelope species. The park’s compact size allows for good wildlife viewing within a short time, making it a rewarding day. You return to your lodge in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
