Day 1: Arrival – Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Experience

Your safari begins with a warm welcome at the airport, where your guide meets you and introduces you to Tanzania in a calm and friendly way. Instead of rushing into wildlife immediately, the day is designed to ease you into the experience. You travel toward Materuni village, located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, where the environment becomes greener and cooler as you move away from town. Once you arrive, you begin a guided walk through local farmland and forest paths, passing banana plantations and small homes that give you a glimpse of everyday village life. The walk leads you to Materuni Waterfalls, a peaceful and refreshing place where water flows down from the mountain into a natural pool. You can relax here, take photos, and enjoy the fresh surroundings. Afterward, you return to the village for a traditional coffee experience where you learn how coffee is prepared using local methods, from roasting to tasting. This first day is simple but meaningful, helping you connect with the place before moving into the safari parks.
